Welcome to Spanish Fort United Methodist Preschool.  This School is an important outreach ministry of our church as we try to serve the needs of our church family and the community.  The program is organized on a non-profit basis, with fees being used to meet operating expenses.  Any profit basis realized goes into equipment and supplies used during the program.

We will strive to meet the developmental needs of your child in all areas — physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual — in a caring, loving, and Christian atmosphere.  The children will be exposed to numerous activities and games, which will enhance motor skills and coordination.  Through music, art, drama, and Show and Tell children are encouraged to express their thoughts and feelings.  They will learn basic shapes, colors, numbers and letters on the level best suited for their age group and development needs.  Music and art will be basic in each age group.  The children will be introduced to enrichment activities through their unit studies, which will help them to learn more about themselves and the world in which they live.  Good stewardship of our world, as well as our personal belongings will be encouraged.  Holidays, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter will be in a positive manner with emphasis on the religious aspect of these special times.

We’re About The Little People…

Children are a gift from the LORD.  They are a reward from Him.   -PSALMS 127:3

Our mission is to be deeply committed to Christ, His Church, and our Community. In response to God’s love, as shown through the grace of Jesus Christ, we are called to:
  • Proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ
  • Provide opportunities for meaningful worship
  • Gather as a faith-based family
  • Grow in our faith through Bible Study
  • Share significant life events
  • Serve our community

Spanish Fort United Methodist Preschool (SFUMP) has been in existence since 1980 as an outreach program of Spanish Fort United Methodist Church.  SFUMP strives to meet the educational and social needs of early childhood in a Christian atmosphere. Our goal is to expand the world of the child to include friends in the community, the church and home.  Through a curriculum that is developmentally age appropriate, each child will have the opportunity to experience a wide range of readiness activities.

The preschool teachers at Spanish Fort United Methodist Preschool are passionate about your child’s happiness and growth. They’re dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing environment that cultivates self-esteem and the love of God.

Spanish Fort United Methodist Preschool is an opportunity to share their passion for life and Jesus while they awaken the wonder inside each and every child.

All parents of Spanish Fort United Methodist Preschoos students are invited to become a part of our active parent association.  These wonderful parents are responsible for the Scholastic Book Fair and many other activities throughout the year.

Please remember to update your address, phone numbers and email addresses if they change.  We will be sending out a quarterly newsletter about program information via email and we wouldn’t want you to miss it.  Email any changes to:

To offer quality care in a developmentally appropriate environment where children are encouraged to learn according to their individual needs and interests.  To foster each child’s sense of self, self-worth & confidence.  To provide an environment for children that will serve to enrich their understanding and appreciation of their family, community & world about them.  To facilitate a partnership with parents through effective and open communications concerning the welfare and development of the child.

Let them be LITTLE, fill their hearts with LAUGHTER, help them GROW WINGS, nurture their sense of WONDER, inspire them to BELIEVE, LOVE them like there’s no tomorrow.

I am honored to be given the opportunity to spend this school year with you and your family. Born and raised in Spanish Fort, I too attended SFUM Preschool when I was 4 in 1996. At a young age, I discovered that working with children was a passion of mine and It provided me with a great sense of joy. I graduated from the University of Alabama with a Dance Degree in 2014, and have been teaching children dance ever since. I believe I can create a safe and warm environment for your little one, where he or she can learn and be their best self. I will also love and support them on the hard days. Rest assured, your child will have my utmost attention and care. I can not wait to get to know you, be a part of your child’s life, and watch each one grow in their own special way.

I have bachelors degrees in Education and in Leadership & Ministry from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. I am currently working on my masters degree in Museum Studies from Harvard University.
Previously, I have worked as an Education Director for a museum and as a 2nd grade teacher in Nashville, TN. I have also worked as a preschool teacher and a gymnastics coach. I moved to the Eastern Shore two years ago with my husband Brett and my daughters, Zooey (3) and Violet (10 months). Both of my girls attend SFUMP and we have loved being a part of the preschool family. I am thrilled to be joining the staff this year!
In my spare time I enjoy sewing, reading, and baking. Brett and I are also currently renovating a vintage airstream after having previously renovated houses in the Nashville area.
